For more than 20 years, Stephanie Turnier Mitchell has helped students with diverse learning needs find educational environments where they can thrive.

Before establishing Turnier Educational Consulting, Stephanie was a founder, leadership team member and teacher at a leading private preparatory school servicing students with learning differences in New York and Connecticut. As Director of College Placement and Transition, she successfully guided countless students towards colleges, comprehensive support programs, and transition and gap year programs that reflected their individual strengths, needs and goals.

From there she founded Grapevine Educational Consulting where she was able to continue her efforts while supporting students from a wide variety of public and private schools. Stephanie was then invited to become an Affiliate and subsequently Partner with The Bertram Group, a reputable firm of educational consultants with varying expertise, where she filled the need for supporting neurodivergent students. 

Today, Stephanie works with students and families across the country on boarding school placement and post-secondary planning. She also consults with secondary schools seeking to develop or strengthen programs for neurodivergent learners.

Experience on both sides of the process matters. Over two decades, Stephanie has developed extensive knowledge of schools, colleges, programs and resources, along with trusted professional relationships across the field. She understands what families are looking for from an educational setting, and what schools and programs need to understand about the individual student.

Stephanie has extensive experience supporting students with a variety of learning and social difficulties, including dyslexia, ADHD, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, language and auditory processing disorders, NVLD, and autism, as well as students whose combinations of strengths and challenges make identifying the right educational path more complex.
